    Hi, im trying to add a video in sony vegas which a person codec'ed by himself.. the video works to look at in wmp, vlc etc.. when i add it in sony vegas the picture is completly black and wont show, i just get the sound from the video.. ive heard that since its custom codec'ed the picture wont show. so im wondering how i can fix this so i can edit the video.. is there some plugin to dowload to fix it? help please, would be so glad if i fix it.. thanks!

    PS. I got Sony Vegas Pro 8.0

    what is the video format? use mediainfo (view=>text) , copy & paste the info back here

    install ffdshow, in the vfw configuration (yellow icon, not red icon) , enable mp42 (set to libavcodec instead of disabled)
